How We Use The Information

SportsHook is an online service designed to enable people who play sports connect effectively with one another. To this end, SportsHook use the personal information collected to help you, as a User, to describe yourself and interact with others. Other information, which does not personally identify you as an individual, is collected by SportsHook and is exclusively owned by SportsHook. The information can be utilized by SportsHook in such manner as SportsHook, in its sole discretion, deems appropriate.

SportsHook will communicate with you through email and notices posted on this website or through any other means available through the service, including text and other forms of messaging. If we send any communications to you via the carrier service with which you have a mobile communications subscription or otherwise have access, you understand you will pay any service fees associated with any such access (including text messaging charges to messages your mobile device). These include a series of emails to confirm user registration and to inform new users about various features of the service.

Information you provide at registration or in your Profile section is also used to customize your experience on the web site. For example, when you login to your account we will display the events submitted by other users in your sports interest areas.

We may provide aggregated anonymous data about the usage of our services to third-parties for such purposes as we deem, in our sole discretion, to be appropriate, including, without limitation, to prospective advertisers on SportsHook. We may segment our users by interest areas, geographic location, or level of participation. This allows us to provide what is likely to be more relevant and interesting information and advertisement to you.

Communications that you initiate through the Site, like a request for contact, will list your name as the initiator but will not include your personal contact information. Your contact information will only be shared with another user if both of you have indicated that you would like to establish contact with each other.

Profile information is used by SportsHook primarily to be presented back to and edited by you when you access the service and to be presented to others permitted to view that information by your privacy settings. In some cases where your privacy settings permit it (e.g., posting to your message board), other SportsHook users may be able to add content to your profile.

Profile information you submit to SportsHook will be available to users of SportsHook who belong to at least one of the teams you allow to access the information through your privacy settings. Your name, network names, and profile picture thumbnail will be available in search results across the Site and those limited pieces of information may be made available to third party search engines. This is primarily so your friends can find you and send a friend request. People who see your name in searches, however, will not be able to access your profile information unless they have a relationship to you (friend, member of your team, etc.) that allows such access based on your privacy settings.

SportsHook may send you service-related announcements from time to time through the general operation of the service. For instance, if a friend sends you a new event invitation, or someone posts on your message board, you may receive an email alerting you to that fact.

It is possible that we may need to disclose personal information when required by law. We will disclose such information wherein we have a good-faith belief that it is necessary to comply with a court order, ongoing judicial proceeding, or other legal process served on our company or to exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims.

SportsHook does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone under the age of 13 or knowingly allow such persons to register. In the event that we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under age 13 without verification or parental consent, we will delete that information as quickly as possible. We recommend that individuals between the age of 13 and 18 ask their parents for permission before providing any information to SportsHook.

By using SportsHook, you are consenting to your personal data being transferred to and processed in the Republic of Singapore.
